Terms and Conditions

The rules for using this site, in plain English.

Last updated

These terms cover your use of WebCresto. By using the site you accept them. They are written in plain English because terms nobody can read protect nobody.

Using this site#

You may read, print and share articles for your own use, personal or professional. You may quote a reasonable extract — a paragraph or two — provided you credit WebCresto and link to the original page.

You may not:

  • republish articles in full, on a website, in a newsletter, or anywhere else;
  • run automated scrapers that place unreasonable load on the site;
  • present our content as your own work, with or without edits;
  • use the site to distribute malware, spam or anything unlawful;
  • attempt to gain access to the admin area, database, or any part of the site not intended for public use.

Who owns what#

Articles, guides, illustrations, the WebCresto name and the site design belong to WebCresto and are protected by copyright. Nothing on this page transfers ownership to you.

Product names, logos and trademarks belonging to the tools we write about remain the property of their owners. We mention them descriptively, for identification. Mentioning a product does not imply that its owner endorses us or that we are affiliated with them — we are not.

If you believe something on this site infringes your copyright, contact us with the page address and a description of the material. We investigate promptly and remove anything infringing.

Comments#

Comments are welcome. By posting one you confirm that the words are yours, that you have the right to post them, and that they do not infringe anyone's rights.

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to publish it on this site, edit it lightly for length or clarity, and remove it if it breaks the rules below.

We remove comments that are spam or thinly disguised advertising, abusive or harassing, deliberately misleading, off-topic, or that publish someone else's personal information. Comments are reviewed before they appear, so posting is not instant.

Our content policy sets out the standards in full.

Accuracy, and the limits of it#

We work hard to get things right and we correct mistakes when we find them. We cannot guarantee that every detail is accurate at the moment you read it. Software changes constantly; a guide correct when published can be out of date months later.

Everything here is general information, not professional advice. It is not legal, financial, tax, medical or employment advice, and it is not a substitute for someone qualified who knows your situation. Our disclaimer covers this in more detail.

We write about software made by other companies and link to it. We do not control those tools, their pricing, their privacy practices or their availability, and we are not responsible for them. Once you leave this site you are subject to someone else's terms.

Some links may be affiliate links, which are disclosed where they appear. See the disclaimer.

Advertising#

This site carries advertising served by Google. We do not choose the individual ads shown and cannot vouch for advertisers or their products. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.

Availability#

We aim to keep the site online but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Content may be added, changed or removed at any time without notice.

Liability#

The site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, WebCresto is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot be limited by law, including fraud or death and personal injury caused by negligence.

If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

Indemnity#

If your misuse of this site — including anything you post — causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Ending access#

We may block access for anyone who breaches these terms, particularly for spam, abuse or attempted intrusion. You can stop using the site at any time.

Changes#

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised version.

Questions#

If anything here is unclear, ask through the contact page and we will explain it in plain terms.
